Well this is exciting news. I'm thrilled to share that Kate McGee, the improbably brilliant designer behind without mirrors, has been nominated for a Drama Desk Award!
This is a big deal, and well deserved. Kate is an absolute genius, and I'm so glad her work is getting this recognition. Those of you who saw without mirrors might remember those curtains, that haze, the patient, minimalist lighting. That's all Kate.
I'm also just happy that something as off-the-beaten-path as without mirrors could be recognized alongside Broadway juggernauts like Death of a Salesman. Our small, peculiar show, alongside Nathan freaking Lane. It's rare for experimental work like this to get mainstream attention or accolades, so we're dancing our happiest jigs out here.
